Permalink Fall at Sunflower Farm

There was no school today but the girls couldn't stand the thought of not seeing their new school friends. So we decided to join a bunch of kids at Sunflower Farm for a fun play day together. This farm is always a favorite of ours and we haven't been in a while so it sounded like a fun time. I think this might have been Kayla's first time at the farm. Or at least the first time walking. While the girls waited in line for the zip line, Kayla and I spent some time with the farms more cuddly residents.

Next we met up with a bunch of friends on the big haystack. They played here for a good hour. I don't really get the lure of the haystack but I could definitely be over the age limit on this one.

Next up, the house of corn. What's that? Just what it sounds like. A small house filled with corn. This is usually a big hit of the littler ones as it is one step up from a cool sandbox. The big girls did a great job of playing along with Kayla on this one.

This place has the coolest tree house configuration ever. They have lots of bridges, platforms, slides, etc., all built around the huge cottonwood trees on the property.

We had perfect fall weather for our adventure today. It was great of our classmates to invite us to the play time. We even got to pick out our own pumpkins on the way out. Always a fun time at Sunflower Farm.

Permalink Leadville with the Medoff's

For Labor Day this year we of course spent the weekend in Leadville. Though this weekend we also were going to be sharing our place with our friends the Medoffs. Anytime we have other kids up to the cabin the girls are stoked. They love their friends. Kayla was no exception this time. She was going to be having her very own friend Zoe around this time. Usually she is the only a baby around. Friendships at this age are always funny. They want to play together but they are also very paranoid about what the other kid is doing. A lot of mine's and no's being heard between the two of them. But, by the end of the weekend they were getting much better with sharing.

Summer 2011

One very funny development over the weekend was Kayla's attachment to Zoe's Mom, Jen. She would follow Jenn around like a puppy and want her to pick her up constantly. After a few hours Kayla even started calling Jen, Mom. While I thought this was hilarious I wasn't so sure of the "Mom" thing. This was until I realized that while Jen was always "Mom." I was always Mama or Mommy. I wasn't forgotten.

We took the kiddos to Turquoise Lake for a bit. The two little girls fought over a bag of popcorn for maybe an hour. Once they were full they were all about the water. Even given how cold it was. (Love the comb over Kayla)

Summer 2011

I learned that trying to get two 2 year olds, one 5 year old, one 6 year old and one 8 year old to pose for a photo is impossible. Lots of giggling and goofiness going on. Oh well, I did my best.

On the way back from the lake Kayla demanded on walking Wyatt. She is really into puppies and kitties right now and I think she finally realized that she has a puppy of her own. Hopefully she gives him a little well deserved attention.

We all had a great weekend with great food and friends. I didn't get enough pictures. Must have been preoccupied.
