We entertained some friends in Leadville this weekend. They were going to be skiing all week so we opted for a different snowy downhill adventure: sledding! The weather was perfect. It wasn’t snowing. Finally. Sledding is usually no good when there is fresh powder because the hill gets built up with the fresh snow and you just push it down the mountain. You want more of a compacted icy surface for maximum speed. So that’s what we had this week.
In weeks prior, I put Kayla in a tube and pushed her down. She didn’t go too far that weekend with the fresh snow. But today was the real deal so she got a ride with Dad from the top hill. What will she think of that? She was pretty quiet. Made a few sounds but the real test was when she got back to the top of the hill after I dragged her back up in the tube. She immediately walked over to the edge of the hill and started screaming and pointing down the hill. Guess she wants to go again!
All that fun got tiring though! Kayla would try to doze off in the tube between rides.
We got tired of taking her so Sydney stepped in!
Mom even took her down a few times. I guess I didn’t get a picture of that. Oops. Anyway, that was enough fun and Kayla was out by the time Sydney pulled her back to the parking lot.
Sure glad that you can’t see this hill from our window at home. Kayla would surely stand at it all day screaming to go ride again!
